In Rome it is opened an exhibition on the Shroud. Tomorrow at 4 pm in the Papal Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, at via degli Aldobrandeschi 190, within the activities of the master in Science and Faith it will be held the inauguration of the permanent exhibition on the Turin Shroud. After the salutation of the rector, Father Paolo Scarafoni, the program will have participations of scholars and experts of the Shroud. Within the 5th Exhibition of the small and middle publishing trade Più libri (More books), that took place from 7 to 10 December 2006 in the Palace of the Conferences, Rome Eur, on Saturday 9 December in Morante Hall it was introduced the novel L’altra Sindone (The other Shroud) (Bonanno Publisher) by Francesco Mattioli, Ordinary University Professor of Sociology Institutions in the Faculty of Communication Sciences of Rome University La Sapienza. At the age of 75, Carlo Brillante, scholar of the fibrinolysis of the blood present on the Shroud, died on November 18.
On the 22nd of July 2006 in Jerusalem, in the Papal Institute “Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center”, near the Holy Sepulchre Basilica, a permanent exhibition on the Shroud, entitled “Who is the Man of the Shroud?” was opened. In the evening of Thursday, 4 May 2006, the Holy Mass in the Turin Cathedral was particularly solemn because 500 years from the concession of the Shroud liturgy by Pope Julius II were celebrated.
